What All Can Your Iphone Do?

For those who aren't into the latest technology gadgets and gizmos, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by everything the iPhone has to offer. A lot of the phones available have functions that mirror and mimic each other. Determining which phone is better can be a challenge. The iPhone is far and away the industry winner. If you have gotten your iPhone wet, don't immediately try to turn it on. Do what you can to dry off the outside and then let the moisture inside have overnight to dry out. Turning a wet phone back on can cause it to permanently and fatally short circuit.

There may be times when you are using your iPhone and a pop-up interrupts what you were doing. Perhaps you wish to complete your initial task before addressing the notification. You can quickly get rid of the notification. Once you see the notification bar, just make it disappear with a swipe.

You can take a screenshot using your iPhone. Hold the sleep and home buttons for at least three seconds and this will take the snapshot. Your screenshot is captured when your screen turns white momentarily.

If you get your iPhone wet, simply use rice in order to dry it out. There are many ways you may get your phone wet, such as puddles or toilets. A hair dryer can actually damage your phone further so to avoid this, fill a ziploc bag with dry rice and put your phone into it. After several hours, the rice will have absorbed all of the water.

There is an easy way to remove unwanted emails with just a swipe of your finger. Simply highlight the message by dragging your finger across the message and hitting the delete button that comes up.

As is the case with lots of newer phones, it is possible to have your iPhone generate visual displays of calls as well as messages. There is also a feature available where you phone will flash when a call or message is received. In the Settings menu, go to General, then to Accessibility. Once you're there, find the LED flash alerts option and turn it on.

If the iPhone freezes up, stay calm. You should first attempt to use the sleep/wake button to jog it into working again. However, should this fail, press the Home key with the sleep/wake button. If that still doesn't work try resetting your phone by holding the home button for 5 seconds.

Purchase a protective screen for your iPhone. Phones that don't have these protectors are more likely to get scratches and nicks. Scratches can appear from just a small speck of dust on your finger. Keep the protector on the wireless phone charger at all times to keep the screen in good condition.

Want to use an accented letter or an umlaut, but are not sure what to do? Just follow these simple steps. Touch the letter you wish to alter, and hold. You should get a box to pop up that will include a number of additional keys. There you can choose as many of those keys as you'd like!

Location-based reminders can be set by using Siri. Siri already gives reminders based on a pre-set time. Now, you can simply say "when I arrive home" instead of specifying a time. Then the phone will tell you to call up your work when it detects that you are home. That way, you get your reminder no matter what time you get home.

You should now feel pretty confident in your ability to use your iPhone. If you apply the tips that you have learned, you will get more enjoyment out of your phone and will be motivated to seek out even more tricks. Remember this information and you can amaze your friends with the iPhone tricks you now know.
